disappearing menus Options

Version 2.8.15, win ME (and 2K)

Drop down menus dissapear before they can be clicked. Almost like a mouse out operation.

I am using frames and the hotspot is in the banner. The menus appear in the mainframe.

all is well using IE5 & 6. But when i test using NS6, on loading the test pages all works well. The meus appear and can be clicked OK. However, once any page has been clicked and loaded, the next time you select a menu it dissapears before you can click a selection.

Strange thing is not all menus exhibit this behaviour. Only ones with 1, 2 or 3 items.

Do you have any possible explantions.
